ABHE institutions assist students in the development of a Biblical world view with a special emphasis on training for church and church-related vocations. Each undergraduate institution, seminary, graduate division or program that is accredited by the Association consists of Biblical/theological studies, general studies, and professional studies. Involvement in ministry formation activities is also an integral part of the Biblical higher education experience.

Represents an aggregate student enrollment of 35,000+ comprising of approximately 200 postsecondary institutions specializing in Biblical ministry formation and professional leadership education.

Is an officially recognized “national accrediting association" by the U.S. Department of Education (www.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/accreditation_pg9.html); is an officially recognized “faith-based” accrediting agency by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (www.chea.org), and is a part of a global network that relates to regional or continental higher educational agencies through the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education (www.icete-edu.org).
