Lilly: "My passion is for students to glorify God in their lives, counseling, and at their local church".
Biography:
Lilly is in the process of completing her dissertation for her Ph.D. in Family Ministry at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS). Prior to joining Crossroads, she was a teaching assistant at SBTS, where she also completed a M.Div. in Christian Ministry. Previously, she completed her M.A. in Biblical Counseling at The Master's College and served on staff at Grace Community Church in California. She is a certified member of the National Association of Nouthetic Counseling (www.nanc.org) and a council board member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition (www.biblicalcounselingcoaliton.org). In addition, she serves as the book review editor for The Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry (www.familyministrytoday.com).
Lilly is passionate about discipleship and believes it is connected to counseling. Her ministry experience includes discipling in the local church for over fifteen years and counseling for over eight years. Her passion for discipleship and the loss of colleagues during 9/11 led her to leave a consulting career and pursue a degree in biblical counseling.
At Crossroads, Lilly desires to equip students with a holistic approach to biblical counseling-holistic refers to both the methodology of counseling and the nature of man. Lilly affirms the sufficiency of Scripture for counseling and recognizes the value of social-scientific research for descriptive purposes. Students are challenged to be Christ-centered in their relationships, counseling, and in the local church. Outside of the classroom, during her spare time, Lilly enjoys traveling, drinking French press coffee, and running marathons.
