Organization of Courses

Crossroads Bible College has divided its
academic courses into three divisions to implement the philosophy, purposes, and objectives of the College. The Division of Biblical-Theological Studies provides the biblical, theological, and spiritual foundation upon which all other academic endeavors are built. The Division of General Studies exposes the student to a broad spectrum of human knowledge both past and present, as well as providing instruction in written and oral communication. The Division of Christian Ministries provides training in specific areas of vocational, Christian ministry.

Numbering of Courses

A number comprised of two letters and three digits identifies each course in the curriculum. The initial letter of the course number indicates the division; the second letter indicates the subdivision in which the course is found. The first number represents the year in which the course should normally be taken (for B.S. students) and thus its comparative difficulty: 100-199 are first year courses; 200-299 are second year courses; 300-399 are third year courses, 400-499 are fourth year courses. Courses 000-099 are remedial and do not carry college credit.

Scheduling of Courses

Crossroads Bible College operates on a semester basis. The academic year consists of two semesters (Fall and Spring) and two shorter terms (Winterim and Summer). Each regular semester has a minimum of sixteen weeks. The credit hour represents the equivalent of fifteen class periods of fifty minutes in length not including the final examination. The College endeavors to offer every course listed in the catalog on a periodic basis. It reserves the right to cancel any advertised course for reasons of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstance.

Course Prerequisites

Students may not register for any course without satisfying the prerequisites listed in the catalog description. Some aspects of the College curriculum make it expedient for students to have attained certain knowledge and skills prior to registering for particular courses. Exceptions can be made only by the faculty instructor in consultation with the department head and/or Vice President of Academic Affairs.
