Educational Objectives
As a school, our main products are our students. Crossroads Bible College has both specific and general objectives for our students. The specific objectives are stated for each program of study and are listed immediately preceding each curriculum in this catalog. The following general objectives are pursued for all students. Crossroads graduates should be able to:
Demonstrate a saving relationship with Jesus Christ
By articulating a clear, doctrinally sound testimony.
By learning to demonstrate Christian love.
By desiring to obey God's Word.
Display a growing commitment to Christ as Lord
By faithfully maintaining a regular time for prayer and devotions.
By displaying consistent growth in biblical obedience.
By rejecting worldly practices, such as sexual impurity, substance abuse and racism.
By demonstrating a growing love for others including sensitivity to personality, cultural and ethnic differences.
By regularly sharing their faith and leading others to Christ.
Acquire, assimilate and communicate knowledge
By writing and speaking clearly and persuasively.
By learning to read and listen with understanding and critical discernment.
By understanding the principles of science and the role of science in everyday life.
By understanding themselves in relation to the world through knowledge of general history, culture, and heritages.
By showing ability to gather, evaluate and integrate information effectively.
By using computers effectively in ministry applications.
By demonstrating life management skills.
By cultivating life learning skills and a passion for life-long learning.
Develop social and cultural responsiveness
By appreciating the peoples and expressions of other cultures.
By applying biblical principles to personal relationships, particularly church and family.
By gaining a basic understanding of human society and cross-cultural relations including the ways individuals and groups function, interact and change.
By using biblical principles to relate to those of other cultures.
Demonstrate growth in ministry skills
By reflecting a servant's attitude that is responsible, supportive and edifying.
By recognizing personal spiritual gifts and talents.
By developing a biblical understanding of and a commitment to Christian Education.
By belonging, serving and providing financial support to local churches.
By demonstrating a growing ability to evangelize those of other religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
By demonstrating the ability to communicate biblical truths in diverse environments to a variety of peoples.
