Biography:
B.R.E., Baptist Bible College, Clarks Summit, PA, 1976; M.A. Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA, 1989; Attended Baptist Bible Seminary, Clarks Summit, PA 1976-1977; Director, Vision for Youth, Inc., 1999–; Pastor 1979-1999; Director of Pump It Up Youth Seminar, National Youth Ministry Conference and New Hope for Chicago Student Ministry.
Tim Ahlgrim is National Director for Vision For Youth, a national network of youth workers that seeks to train and encourage youth workers and students for ministry. He has worked with students for the last 37 years – 24 as a youth pastor in Illinois and Indiana. Along with his work with Vision For Youth, he has taught youth ministry at Crossroads Bible College in Indianapolis, Indiana for 12 years. He is also a wrestling coach at Lafayette Jefferson High School and serves as the Huddle Coach for the Jeff Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Tim and his wife Bonnie have two children; Ben, who is an artist, living in Pennsylvania and Allison, who lives in Phoenix, AZ.
In his ministry with Vision For Youth, Tim has participated in youth ministry training in several countries from Southeast Asia, South America and Europe. (Philippines, Bolivia, Germany, and Italy.) Throughout the year Tim speaks to several thousand youth workers and students at conferences, camps, and seminars. New Hope Student Ministries is the inner city ministry and missions arm of VFY. Tim has extensive experience working in the inner cities of the United States and participating in student missions training to the cities.
Tim has been published in several publications including the Vision For Youth magazine in which he is one of the publishers. He has co-authored the youth ministry books, “Pushing the Limits – Unleashing the Hidden Potential in Youth Ministry” and “The Greenhouse Project – Cultivating Students of Influence”. Tim has served Vision For Youth as a board of directors’ member. He is a past member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. He is also a past recipient of the Outstanding Faithfulness in Youth Ministry Award.
