Biography:

Carolyn M. Betts joined the staff of Crossroads Bible College in 2000 while a Graduate student of Moody Bible Institute.  She was selected as an assistant to professors in African American Literature, Church Administration, and College Study & Life Management, handling various administrative and course related duties.   

Ministry Experience:

Although Mrs. Betts has ministered in the local church and beyond for over 30 years, her  retirement from Eli Lilly and Company in 2007 now allows her a full-time teaching and counseling ministry. 

  • College Adjunct Professor -2004 to Present

Crossroads Bible College, Indianapolis, Indiana providing instruction in Women’s Ministry, Christian education, and Methodology of Teaching.

  • Church Education Administration – 1999 to Present

Director of Christian Education, Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, Indianapolis  Indiana, since 2006. Superintendent of Sunday school and Vacation Bible School Coordinator, North Baptist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana, two years.

  • Local Church Education – 1987 to Present

Teaching ministry: pre-school through senior adult Bible classes; small groups, and

             Bible Study electives; Teacher and Leadership training; youth camps, and Child

 Evangelism Fellowship, Inc., eight years.

  • Missions and Evangelism -2004 to Present

Para church organizations and women’s correctional institution (Julian Center, Liberty

Hall, Indianapolis); Ghana, West Africa Accra and Aburi-Akuapem missions.

  • Women’s Ministry – 1994 to Present

Advisor, Mentor, to female teens and adult women; Pastor’s liaison to women’s ministries, Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church; Leadership Team: Baptist Bible College of Indianapolis (1994-1999); speaker for conferences, workshops, retreats and seminars.

  • Outstanding Professional, Indiana Wesleyan University, 2005
  • Founder and chairperson, S.T.E.W.  Women’s Ministries Council, 2005
