Biography:

Donna J. Hubbard currently serves as a professor and advisor in the Accelerated Studies program at Crossroads Bible College. She is the first African-American female to serve in this capacity.

Prior to joining Crossroads Donna served as the Southeast Regional Chapter Coordinator for Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education. In this position she managed over 160 collegiate chapters on campuses in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. She provided training and other resources for chapters along with managing the Society’s individual and chapter awards.

Donna is a 2008 graduate of National Urban Fellows. Through this program she received an MPA degree from Baruch College, City University of New York. During her fellowship she served as Special Assistant to the Deputy Mayor of Neighborhoods for the City of Indianapolis, She supported two initiatives: Great Indy Neighborhoods Initiatives (GINI) and implementation of a countywide Crime Prevention Grant.

Prior to accepting the National Urban Fellows award, Donna J. Hubbard was the Public Relations Officer for IPS Key Learning Community, the world’s first multiple-intelligences school. As a liaison for this educational institution, Mrs. Hubbard developed a new and efficient system to coordinate frequent and numerous visitors from across the globe.  She was also the conference coordinator for the school’s annual Key Institute.

A concerned and involved supporter in the effort to educate young people, Mrs. Hubbard took on additional responsibility as a Registrar and Assistant to the Director of Guidance.  In this capacity her responsibilities allowed her to assist in student educational development by searching and identifying intern and apprenticeships, scholarship opportunities, and providing support to students with college applications. She also presented career development workshops in resume writing, interview techniques, and networking.

A graduate with honors of Butler University’s Jordan College of Fine Arts, Mrs. Hubbard majored in Arts Administration. She was an intern at Clowes Memorial Hall in the education department and the historic Madame Walker Theatre Center.  Mrs. Hubbard was recognized as a Featured Alumni in College’s Foundation for Success magazine and serves as a member of Butler University’s Black Alumni Association.

A gifted vocalist Mrs. Hubbard has appeared professionally as a cast member of the American Cabaret Theatre in Indianapolis. She is also a member of the Grammy-nominated gospel choir Ricky Dillard & New Generation Chorale.
