Biography:
Nicholas G. Piotrowski is the Director of Biblical and Theological Studies and Associate Professor of Biblical Theology at Crossroads Bible College, Indianapolis, IN. Before joining the faculty at Crossroads, Nicholas was a teaching and research assistant at Wheaton College where he worked on his dissertation exploring the socio-rhetorical use of sacred texts in the first century. He also adjunct-taught at Tyndale Theological Seminary in Amsterdam and Mid-America Reformed Seminary in Dyer, IN. Prior to his work in higher academia, Nicholas taught theology at the Washington Christian Academy in Olney, MD for three years, and ministered to juvenile offenders in Colorado, Mississippi and Washington DC for over a decade. His experience in local church ministry involves internships at Castle Rock Baptist Church in Castle Rock, CO and Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington DC, and time as a pastoral assistant at Grace Community Bible Church in Elgin, IL.
At Crossroads Nicholas’ goal is to make explicit the manifold glories of God in the gospel of Jesus Christ for the good of his church. To this end he hopes to instill in his students philosophically consistent hermeneutic approaches to the text of Scripture and a cultural sensitivity for discerning the spirit of our age. Nicholas believes that the Bible contains a unified metanarrative that can be brought to bear with cogency on the questions that postmoderns are asking. This fall he is teaching New Testament Survey I, Hermenutics, and Systematic Theology I.
Nicholas also has a passion for cultural apologetics—the engagement with long-standing cultural and social trends that bear on the broad perception of the plausibility of the gospel. The majority of his work has been done through the Fox Valley Theological Society (www.FVTS.net), of which he is a cofounder.
His wife, Cheryl, and their two sons, Silas and Andreas, are excited to participate in what the Lord is doing through Crossroads!
