As I write, I’m thinking about all students at Crossroads Bible College, but especially about the person who is just now considering
becoming a CBC student. As I think about that new or “prospective” student, some important questions go through my mind. Question like:
- “How can becoming a student at CBC bring you closer to God?”
- “How can your time at Crossroads Bible College bring God’s blessing into your life?
The Blessing of God’s Word
The answer to these questions is found in Psalm 1, a foundational Scripture for every believer. Psalm 1 teaches us that if we meditate and delight in God’s Word every day, or literally “day and night,” then all that we do will be a success. “But his delight is in the Law of the Lord and in His Law he meditates day and night” (Psalm 1:2).
If you come to Crossroads Bible College you will have the blessing of being in God’s Word constantly. The Bible is our primary textbook and you will be in God’s Word all the time. I cannot think of a better opportunity to grow spiritually and to get closer to God than by being in His Word day and night.
The Scripture goes on to say in Psalm 1:3 that for a person who is constantly in God’s Word and delighting in it, that person will be successful and prosperous in everything he or she does. Now, I don’t know about you, but that is one of the most exciting things that I read in the Scriptures. A formula for total success in everything we do.
The Key to Scriptural Success
The key is not giving money to a church, person, or organization. The key to success is not winning souls to Jesus, or working tirelessly at your church, or even dedicating your life to full-time service. God says the key to a prosperous, successful life is being in His Word “day and night” and delighting, meditating, and studying it above all else.
Being in God’s Word day and night is one thing you will most definitely experience if you decide to come to Crossroads Bible College and make God’s Word your primary textbook: your light unto your path, your all and all. God led me to a Bible College close to 20 years ago and my life has never been the same. And, after 17 years of marriage, 6 children, and multiple blessings along the way, I can say with full confidence that God has indeed been faithful to the promise in Psalm 1:3 that says “whatever he does shall prosper.”
