To Glorify God by Training Christian Leaders to Reach a Multiethnic Urban World for Christ

“Mega Ministry”

“CBC at its core is a school that sticks to Biblical Principles”, Charles Walter shared. Charles came to Crossroads just to take a couple courses that were “Biblically sound” and ended up graduating with a degree in Management and Ethics. He loved preaching.

“I’ll never forget the time when I told Mike Smith that I was preaching my first sermon. This was back in November of 1997. He mentioned to me that he was going to try to make it to hear me speak. Sure enough he came to hear me speak at my first sermon. I’m forever grateful for Mike Smith and the spiritual deposits that he has made in my life”. Charles continued, “When taking Systematic Theology, I remember having these Calvinist vs. Armenian discussions that were lively and enriching. II Peter 3:9 kept coming up and became a favorite verse.”

Today, Charles is serving at Eastern Star Church a large mega church with a mighty ministry. “I’m responsible for overseeing various ministries; including, the marriage ministry, the men’s ministry, the senior saints ministry and many more. My management degree at CBC has given me the tools necessary in order to effectively oversee the ministries under my care. If God opens the opportunity for me to be a Senior Pastor, I’ll take advantage of that but for now, I love what I do”.

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us,[a] not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” II Peter 3:9
